During a 20 year Air Force career, Daryl competed nationally and internationally for the USAF team. Daryl retired in 1995 from military and competitive martial arts. Daryl Johnson started his law enforcement career as a Teller County Sheriff’s deputy and moved on to Colorado Springs PD. Daryl retired from the SWAT team, continued into a security position with NASA in Louisiana and then close protection for ExxonMobil Country Mgr in Papua New Guinea. Daryl continued to UAE to train the Abu Dhabi Police Dept and the royal family protection team until 2016. His favorite subjects are Use of Force, Defensive Tactics, and Firearms. Daryl is a 6th Degree Black Belt (Master Instructor) of Sanuces Ryu Jiu-Jitsu and has been training since he was 11 years old. As a certified instructor for over 40 years, his training includes CQB, ground defense, stick and knife tactics. Daryl has utilized some of these tactics as a law enforcement officer and has proven their effectiveness on the street. Daryl is currently training civilians in self-protection.
